Roscoe Scott Nelson

MD, FACS

Dr. Roscoe Nelson has dedicated nearly three decades to advancing men’s and women’s health through expertise in urologic surgery, hormone optimization, and preventive medicine. Board-certified by the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he is recognized nationally for integrating advanced clinical science with individualized patient care.

Dr. Nelson completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Diego, followed by general surgery and urology residencies at the University of California, Davis. Since completing his training in 1999, he has held numerous leadership roles, including Chief of Surgery at a major community hospital, Chief Medical Officer of Arizona Urology Specialists, and Executive Council member for one of the nation’s largest urology groups. He also served on the Board of Trustees for a regional hospital, helping guide strategic growth and clinical quality initiatives.

Now based in Utah, Dr. Nelson practices at Summit Urology, where he focuses on advanced management of urologic conditions and hormonal health for both men and women. His clinical expertise includes benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), sexual health, hormone replacement therapy, recurrent UTI and minimally invasive procedures such as Aquablation and neuromodulation.

Throughout his career, Dr. Nelson has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and national presentations on prostate and bladder health. He remains committed to providing data-driven, patient-centered care that promotes optimal hormonal balance, vitality, and overall well-being.

Dr. Nelson and his wife, Judy, have four children and five grandchildren. When away from the clinic, he enjoys travel, golf and time with family—finding balance and perspective on and off the course.
